HS code (Harmonized System Code) is an internationally used commodity classification system, formulated and managed by the World Customs Organization (WCO). It is used to uniformly classify and name import and export commodities in various countries around the world to facilitate customs clearance, statistics, supervision and tariff determination in international trade.
HS code is universally used and currently used by more than 160 member countries and regions. It unifies the classification standards of commodities and makes trade between different countries and regions simpler and more transparent.

For customers exporting to the Saudi market, we use the Saber platform to query HS code almost every day to determine whether the HS code products are subject to control, control requirements, technical regulations, and additional requirements.

Updated content

As shown in the figure above, the Saber platform has optimized and upgraded the hscode query tool, and three new query parameters have been added, namely Technical Regulation, Required Certificates, and Additional Requirements. The main restriction is on the hscode query parameter. In the past, when we did not know the specific Saudi HS code, we would use the 6-digit international common code for query. Now the query result of the 6-digit code is: No Data To Display; and the complete Saudi HS code must be used to query the correct result.
